Did the Philadelphia Mint place a mintmark on 1883 silver dollars?

The Philadelphia mint did not place a mintmark on 1883 silver dollars. Both coins in the image below are valuable 1883-S Morgan dollars. However the one on the right is worth twice the other. Each the same date, both struck at the San Francisco mint, the difference is only a slight amount of wear.

Identified by mintmarks located on the reverse just under the ribbon. Pictured is the "S" mintmark from the San Francisco mint, also possible is an "O" New Orleans and the popular "CC" indicating the Carson City mint. The Philadelphia mint did not place a mintmark on 1883 silver dollars.
